up until today i thought the line

Nevermind that the name of the song is WASH and that rain and sunshine can wash but I've never seen rain and sunshine WATCH.    But....that's what I thought it first said.

I have sooooo many misheard Lyrics.  Im very embarrassed.  It wasn't till this thread that i realized how many i thought there was.

Before I knew the song was named "Anchor" and I had only illegally pirated it off of one of those media sharing sites back in the day.... I used to think the chorus was:

"You are my ANGER...whoa oh oh....ANGER... whoa oh oh YEAH.....Can you HEAR me?"  etc....etc...

hahhaa...I think part of the reason I thought it was anger is because of the way Jason sings it so forcefully towards the end....with such conviction...but I misconstrued the conviction for being peesed off at first.  hahahaha 

lol! That changes the meaning of the song just a little....haha

Speaking of ANGER, I don't why this just popped into my head, but I thought I'd share it anyways.  One lyric that always stood out to me from a Goo Goo Dolls song is that one from "Can't Let It Go."    ..... "I was your ANGER and you were my fear... and now that it's over, of course it's so clear ... that you were no angel and I was no sin but somehow I can't let it goooooo....can't leeeet it go." 

So, then that song would fit more with THAT type of theme with my misheard lyrics.  haha 

In their song "Stanley Climbfall" when Jason says "Can't carry your hope" I thought he said "can't carry alone"
 
Then when he says "For losers always make the winners day" i thought he said "For losers always make the Wednesday"
 
Also when he says "are you killing" i thought he said "are you healing" until now lol
 
wow i didnt notice how much lyrics i misheard until i actually read them. I guess now I know that if I think I know all the words I should double check

I know what you mean.  It continues to astound me what I think is being sung versus what is actually being sung.  hahaha  

Stanley Climbfall has a bunch of misheard lyrics for me.  I can't even think of them all, but in a way it makes the songs more interesting because they evolve in meaning as the years go by and I learn that actual words.  hahaha 

haha yea thats true. It's like a new discovery when you find out that the words you thought he was saying he wasn't. There are probably misheard lyrics in a lot more songs that I probably won't find out until like a year later haha.

Ha ha, this is a funny thread. In the Netherlands, we even have an item about this on our national radio. It's called "mama appelsap", literally meaning "mommy applejuice", referring to Michael Jackson's song "Wanna be started" which has lyrics that go like this: "Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa
Ma Ma Se, Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa". I think every Dutch person won't sing it like this, but sings"Ma ma se, ma ma sa, ma ma appel sap".
Well anyways,  the radio programm encourages listeners to send in misheard lyrics and then translated into Dutch. It is so funny. May be you should call this radio station. There are prizes involved...
