This Song Reminds Me of......
You know that feeling you get when you hear a song you haven't heard in a long time and it instantly brings you back to a certain memory or a certain period of time or reminds you of a certain person. Well, I thought it might be fun for people to share that on here. It doesn't have to be a Lifehouse song, but of course (as usual) you'll get meaningless bonus points if it's Lifehouse related!!! LOL If you can relate to what someone says about a song, make sure to comment and agree or say what the song reminds you of. Ready???????

I'll start. ![]()
Whenever I hear "All in All" I think of that feeling I get when I get to the top of the mountain after a grueling hike ....."standing on top of the world tonight....no one's looking back at you" Besides the fact that it's a comforting and empowering song, it just takes me back to one of my favorite places in the world (Maine) in my mind. ![]()
BTW, I'm going back there in October! ![]()
When I hear Breakdown by Jack Johnson I think of the time I was in Utah last May, and my sister came down from Orlando to be with Jason, I think of her in the bathroom doing her hair or something and her singing it. And my mom, my sister, Jason, and me playing a card game with that playing on the speakers.![]()
And then New Shoes by Paolo Nutini makes me think of Jason too. We always related it to one of his friends. haha. Maybe it was Jeremy too
And also Love Today and Grace Kelly by Mika. He played it in the car and he was happy and all into it...haha
And
Simon reminds me of my best friend
*cookie?*
When I hear Fairytales and sandcastles, I think of reading the first Harry Potter at my grandma's house. I listend to that song a lot while I was reading that book.
i love the idea of this thread.
the last 4 songs of Who We Are remind me of when i moved into my 1st apartment with my ex wife and i spent hours and hours getting a sunburn in our backyard building a deck patio for us and the cd came out on june 19th and we moved in on the 23rd so u know i had the cd on repeat. and those songs always take me back to the sunshine and sweat. working in a wifebeater building a deck hat came out awesome.
The song Paralyzer by Finger Eleven reminds me of this one time I listened to it over and over on the drive to Phoenix...haha
Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis reminds me of this one time i stayed at my grandparents house for a couple days and i listened to it a lot
And Blake Lewis reminds me of my first trip to Florida. When my sister got married. I listened to it a lot there. Ecspecially in the car
And Let Love In by The Goo Goo Dolls reminds me of a time we were in Florida and we stopped to get gas and I was listening to it. I remember telling my sister it was a good song and I think she was sharing an earbud or something
And then another time in Florida where my sister was sharing my ipod I played The All- American Rejects and asked her if she listened to them.
And then on the flight to Salt Lake City we were sharing my ipod again and Empty by Click Five came on and she really liked it. And then not too long ago, a few months, she asked me what that song was.
And then Somewhere Only We Know by Keane reminds me of a Peter Pan video my sister has on her myspace and I asked her what the song was....and then later I find out Lifehouse sings that song too...haha
Ok- I'm done for now....lol
Gahhh.. I can't think of any song right now but surely there are songs that remind me of something or someone. Gotta recall and post them here. Give me a sec.
Any time i hear the song "Sex and Candy" by Marcy Playground the smell of Hay bales and feel of both crisp morning air and hot summer sun come rushing to me. When that song was popular i was showing sheep in 4-h and it was the May-Day County Fair. I remember trying to do homework in the morning before the fair started and in the afternoon trying to nap listening to that album. Also always hearing the song in the wash racks where people washed their animals. Its good times. I like this topic.
The song Blind reminds me ofwhen I would drive to church with my dad and we would just listen. and he would always ask me about jason and Lifehouse
Dancing Queen (ABBA) and Let the Music Play (Shannon) both remind me of my sister. We both loved those songs together and even though she's 7 years older than me, she used to include me in a lot of things, including letting me listen to her 45's on her record player. It was like a privilege. And we would play dress up sometimes, but then again....she used to say, "Let's play MAID! You go first." I fell for it every time. Pretty soon I would say that it was my turn and then she would say she was tired of the game. LOL But....I still love her. (And I'm still her MAID! lol)
Other songs that remind me of record players and my sister and brother are Disco Duck (haha...that song RAWKS) and Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys.
Whenever I hear Neil Diamond or Olivia Newton John or Fiddler on the Roof songs I think about the cross country vacations that our family did when I was little. We also listened to this really funny Christian comedian called Grady Nut. It was all on state of the art 8 track tape at that time. LOL .... and my Dad had a CB radio. OMGosh....I haven't thought about that in a long time. His CB handle was "The Faster Pastor" LOL ![]()

Ah! I love it when my dad just randomly starts asking me things about Lifehouse when I put on their music...which is most of the time. It's the one topic that I'm an expert in, as all of us are.
First Time by Lifehouse always brings me back to when I used to live at my old house, during the summer. I used to play the radio while swimming in the pool and I remember hearing it that last summer I lived there, in 2007. Soon afterward is when I got into Lifehouse. Bright Lights by Matchbox Twenty always reminds me of long road trips. Acoustic #3 by the Goo Goo Dolls reminds me of this girl I used to know. She used to live next to my grandparents, and she fits that song perfectly. And The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson reminds me of eating a chocolate chip cookie.
Alanis Morrsette Ironic reminds me of when i was 6th grade sitting in my friends room while she gave me a makeover haha. She also was trying to get me into alternative/pop music cause all i listened to was country. She said my voice fit that song. I guess it did until the chorous. haha
Feels like Tonight by daughtry reminds me of when I used to sail all the time to the islands off the coast of LA. we would listen to the radio and that song was ALWAYS on. along with Big Girls dont cry by Fergie and How Far We've Come by Matchbox twenty.

There were several songs from this CD that I would sing to Emily before she would go to sleep. This was before she could talk very well and when I would get to the end of a verse she would come in with the last word. I'd get so excited because Emily was diagnosed with an Autistic like disorder. I was a jukebox when my kids were young. But especially with Emily.![]()

Aww...that's sweet, Cindy. My nephew does exactly that. We sing, "Twinkle, twinkle little....." and that he belts out......"star!" Haha...it's so cute. Then it's, "How I wonder what you....." and then him: "Are!" ![]()
Wow, I didn't know that was a trait. That is so .... I don't ... I never realized they did that. It is sweet though.
The soundtrack of The Nightmare Before christmas reminds me of the time I painted my room when i was like 15. it was awesome.
It Must Have Been Love by Roxette reminds me of my elementary days. ![]()
25 Minutes by Michael Learns to Rock reminds me of my High School days. ![]()
